did you already manage to play the videos? I encountered the same problem and ... no I dont have a real solution but I know what causes the error.
Your described error occured to me only on Safari 7 - the standardbrowser of Mac OS X 10.9 . The Preferences are set to save mode and you can switch them to "unsave mode". See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5954 . With unsave mode there is no connection error.
My problem is, that I can't tell my customers to set "unsave mode" manually. My product is a DVD that should run without an installer. Does anybody have an idea for a workaround?
