Finally, if Adobe is unable to help, I am thinking about trying the S/PDIF Out jack or even going the analog route. This Sager notebook has 4 eighth inch audio jacks on it (headphone jack, microphone jack, line-in jack and S/PDIF jack). I am reading the laptop manual now, but I think I remember reading that this laptop can convert those analog ports to 5.1 analog out (each port outputting 2 of the 6 channels). Get 3 stereo eighth inch male to stereo RCA male adapters and plug those into the analog inputs on the back of the surround sound receiver.
There are still a couple more options to explore, but it sure would have been nice if HDMI would work with the video and audio in one cable.
