Re: Rename files in Prelude?

I would like to use Prelude at the point of my workflow where I'm initially pulling the files off of the media, for example, to move files off of the SD card to my hard drive.

At this point in the process, I would like to be able to rename the files on the file system so that they reflect the content.  Renaming the clip in Prelude and leaving the filename as 00001.MTS doesn't help when I'm looking at the files on the hard drive to import.  It doesn't aid my workflow at present.

I understand that Prelude does not do this by default to prevent breaking links to those files created in other projects and programs that may have already accessed them.  At the point in my workflow where I would use Prelude, this would not be an issue.

**What I would like to see is a context menu (right-click) that allows the user to select multiple files, right-click, and choose "Make Filename match Clip Name" or something like that.  This option would take all of the names given in Prelude and change the files on the drive to match.

Doing it this way would not interfere with the default function in Prelude but would add the ability to manipulate the file when convenient to the user.

Thanks!
