Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 / Adobe After Effects CS5

I am making a project using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and the title words I would like to add the effect of it shattering like glass, how would I go about doing this. I believe I would use After Effects to build the title shattering like glass, but how do I go about doing this? Do I open my current file in After Effects and them build the title, or do I open my current file in Premiere and export it to After Effects? Or do I build the title in After Effects and open it in Premiere? Also what is the easiest process of building the title with the effect of it shattering like glass?
