Hi Neil - thanks for your email - this problem started 20+ hours of work ago with the "help> update" advice - when i first attempted to open the folio builder in indesign tools and it says i need to go to update the software via the help menu. this message is all i get in folio builder. but it is not possible - the "update" item in "Help" has only ever been greyed out. i have not touched the .dat file because i don't feel confident in following these instructions (which i found online) - sorry i can't find a reference to it (i have opened and read hundreds of pages trying to solve this). this is why i have sort help here. other adobe pages suggest manually trying to download the toolkit. which i have also done numerous times. and attempted to install (which i only ever get an error message from & reference to "administrator"). I am the administrator of my lap top (ie i am on the only login/it is my computer) some sites have referred to needing to clear my cache. which i have also done. i have attempted thru system preferences to do a "software update" - this repeatedly (read numerous times) has resulted in a ProApps Codec being run. which has no impact on my indesign. i am running Adobe CC Indesign 2014 is 10.0.0.70.
